What is the Korea Grand Sale?
Korea's official shopping, culture and tourism festival for international visitors. It is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Visit Korea Committee, and has been held in the winter off-season since 2011. Benefits cover airlines and transport, shopping, accommodation, food and drink, beauty and health, experiences and convenience services.
When is Korea Grand Sale 2027?
December 23, 2026 to February 13, 2027, for foreign visitors. The concept message is "Come Get Your Own K", and this year's special theme is food (gourmet). The previous edition, Korea Grand Sale 2026, ran from December 17, 2025 to February 22, 2026.
Where do I get the coupons?
At the Welcome Center on the 1st-floor lobby of Noon Square in Myeongdong, and on the official site's Special Benefit page. The Welcome Center opens daily 11:00–20:00 for all 53 days of the event. It hands out the dedicated Korea Grand Sale coupon book, shows partner benefits, and runs a lucky draw and receipt-reward events; entry is free. Mobile welcome centers will also tour regions such as Gangwon and Gyeongnam, with dates varying by region. The official pages do not currently say which ID you need to show.
Which brands and partners are confirmed so far?
As of November 4, 2026, the official Special Benefit page lists only three offers, all for flights. Partner recruitment stays open until November 30, 2026, so the full list has not been published.
- Air Seoul flight offers
- Promotions for discounted flights to Korea
- JEJU Air 1st promotion
- The official listing says special promotions roll out from mid-October 2026 across airlines, online travel agencies and shopping, each with its own period.
How big were the discounts last time?
About 1,750 companies took part in Korea Grand Sale 2026. According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism:
- 10 Korean airlines, including Korean Air, offered up to 96% off flights to Korea.
- Department stores, duty-free shops, outlets, hypermarkets and convenience stores joined with gifts by spend, money-off vouchers and membership upgrades.
- Online and offline sales with brands such as CJ Olive Young, Musinsa Standard and Ktown4u gave up to 90% off.
- Tie-ups with UnionPay, WOWPASS and other payment apps for foreigners gave instant discounts or cashback worth up to 15% at major stores.
Do Grand Sale offers stack with tax refunds or department store tourist coupons?
There is no official rule. As of November 4, 2026, the official Korea Grand Sale site, VISITKOREA and the ministry's announcements give no general rule on combining Grand Sale offers with tax refunds or department store coupons for foreigners. Whether they stack depends on each partner's own terms, so check with the store or the operation office before paying.

- Counterfeits and complaints — Selling fakes in Korea carries up to 7 years in prison or a ₩100 million fine; small personal-use quantities in a traveler's luggage are exempt from the customs IP ban, larger ones are not. Plus Myeongdong red flags, the 1666-6464 report line and the 1330 complaint channel.
- Free vs paid coupons — Lotte, Hyundai, Galleria and Shinsegae run foreigner programs you join at an in-store desk with your passport, and the official steps include no purchase. What each gives, what to bring, where to go, and how to tell what a platform voucher adds.
- Duty free vs tax refund — Duty-free prices already exclude VAT and individual consumption tax; department stores charge tax-inclusive prices and refund the tax before you leave (from ₩15,000). Downtown duty-free goods are collected only at the departure pickup counter. Plus Korea's official allowance and purchase-limit rules.
- Tax refund with discounts — Coupons and payment discounts lower the price the VAT refund is based on, and the refund you actually get is less than 10% because operator fees are deducted. Plus the 2026 instant-refund limits, the minimum purchase and refunds to Alipay, WeChat Pay or card.
- Department store hours — Weekday and weekend hours, restaurant floor hours and November 2026 closing days for Lotte Main, Shinsegae Main and Gangnam, The Hyundai Seoul, Hyundai Apgujeong and Galleria Luxury Hall, plus Lunar New Year and Chuseok closures and downtown duty-free hours.
