November at a glance

Korea Grand Festival: Oct 29 – Nov 15

A government-run sale across Korea, now in its second year: 18 days and 40,000+ companies. For foreign visitors: 25% off at duty-free shops nationwide, free entry to Gyeongbokgung and the other main palaces, and free shows at the National Theater. The lottery and local vouchers need Korean ID. Five department stores run their winter sale during the festival (see below).

The 25% duty-free discount and the "up to 50% off" on cars, appliances and other Korean goods are separate things. Checked 2026-10-30.

Olive Young Black Friday: Nov 1–7

Olive Young announced on Oct 29 that Black Friday 2026 runs Nov 1–7 in stores and online. Main stores each have their own extra "Last Pick" markdowns; two limited mystery boxes (6–7 full-size items each) sell in store and online; and a limited special drop runs on Nov 4 only. Brand count and top discount were not given. Tourists pay the shelf sale price in store; show your passport at the till for an instant tax refund over the minimum spend.

Olive Young Festa is a ticketed beauty fair, not a sale; there is none in November 2026. Checked 2026-10-30.

Singles Day (11.11): 11st Grand 11 Day, Nov 1–11

Korea's Singles Day sales are mostly online-mall events: 11st Grand 11 Day (Nov 1–11) and G market Big Smile Day (Nov 2–13). Both are online and need a Korean account and Korean payment, so they are of limited use to visitors. On Nov 11, 11st has a ₩10,000-off cart coupon on ₩40,000+, only for new members or members with no purchase in two months, first come first served. As of Oct 30 we found no official Alipay, WeChat Pay or Tmall Singles Day promotion in Korea this year.

Most online discounts and coupons need Korean phone verification. Checked 2026-10-30.

Department store winter sale: dates not out yet

The government said on Oct 27 that Hyundai, Shinsegae, Lotte, Galleria and AK run winter clothing sales and brand events during the Korea Grand Festival (Oct 29 – Nov 15); as of Oct 30 no store had given its dates. In each of the last three years the sale started in mid-November and ran about 17 days. Sale prices are applied at the counter and are for tourists too; tourist coupons are collected separately.

Hyundai's discounts are measured against the first selling price; brands such as LV, Hermès and Chanel generally don't take part. Checked 2026-10-30.
