Korea Black Friday 2026

Korea has no single Black Friday. The US one falls on Fri Nov 27, but Korean sales start in late October: the government's Korea Grand Festival (Oct 29 – Nov 15), Shinsegae's SSG Day (Oct 30 – Nov 8), then separate Black Friday sales from Olive Young, 29CM and MUSINSA.

As of Oct 27, Olive Young, 29CM and MUSINSA have not announced their 2026 dates. The "Nov 1–7" or "Nov 15–25" dates going around online are guesses from past years. This page keeps Announced and Expected apart: expected rows give last year's officially reported dates, and we update them once announced.

Olive Young Black Friday

• Nov 1–7 in 2025: 776 brands and 6,589 items on special price, up to 60% off, with limited random coupons at midnight and 6 pm each day.
• Not announced for 2026 as of Oct 27 (no Black Friday notice in Olive Young's official newsroom up to Oct 26).
• In stores you pay the shelf sale price; show your passport at the till for an instant tax refund. Member coupons need a Korean member account.
• Black Friday and the season sale (올영세일, four times a year) are separate; the December edition ran Nov 30 – Dec 6 in 2025.

MUSINSA and 29CM

• MUSINSA: winter Black Friday ran Nov 16–26 in 2025 with a teaser from Nov 14 and about 4,500 brands; there were events around Seongsu and pop-ups at the Gangnam, Hongdae and other stores. 2026 not announced as of Oct 27.
• 29CM 29WEEK: Nov 3–13 in winter 2025 with 1,835 brands. 29CM is online only and needs Korean phone verification, so it is of limited use to visitors.
• Buying on MUSINSA online also needs Korean phone verification; visitors do better in the stores.

Department stores and the Korea Grand Festival

The Korea Grand Festival (Oct 29 – Nov 15) bundles the government's discount events, with 40,000+ companies this year. The government said on Oct 27 that Hyundai, Shinsegae, Lotte, Galleria and AK run winter clothing sales and brand events during the festival; each store's dates are not out yet. Sale prices are given at the counter, so tourists get them too; the foreigner coupons are separate.

Brand Black Friday sales on now

Of the 200 brands we check daily, two had started Black Friday by Oct 27: Archivépke (official store, Oct 22 – Nov 18) and Marithé François Girbaud (official store, Oct 26 – Nov 9). We add brands as they announce.
